| As a local development agency we offer services and support for voluntary and community organisations in Swale, and encourage liaison between voluntary and statutory organisations to help bring about a more creative and caring society. Swale CVS encourages the sector to put forward their views on local and national policies and decisions, and creates and promotes channels for consultation. Identifying unmet needs, and developing initiatives to meet them. Swale CVS promotes partnership working between sectors, supporting innovation, accountability and good practice, whilst providing training and other support services and advice.
In our volunteering capacity, we promote voluntary work; inform people of the range of volunteering options. Volunteers are told of their rights and responsibilities and we place and train volunteers. Swale CVS develops new approaches and opportunities for volunteering, and works with the statutory, voluntary and private sectors on key issues. As well as progressing volunteering, we have a range of direct volunteering services including, the Swale Social Car Scheme, our New Connections Befriending Project, Swale VCS Training Project, Swale Youth and Sheppey Youth projects together with the much-valued Companionship at Christmas.Please explore this web-site to find out more. |
